Biting Cold
by Chloe Neill

Turned into a vampire against her will, twenty-eight-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago’s vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye—and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined.
And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing—among humans or inhumans.
Now Merit is on the hunt, charging across the stark American Midwest, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could unleash catastrophic evil on the world. But Merit is also the prey. An enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he’ll stop at nothing to get the book for himself. No mercy allowed.
No rules apply. No lives spared. The race is on.

my thoughts~ I have missed Merit & Ethan! This series is in my Top 10 all time favorite series. Merit is the kick ass Sentinal of Cadogan House and Ethan is the Master of the House and they have been fighting their attraction to each other (mostly over crazy stuff) for awhile now. This book opens to the pair driving to Nebraska to protect a book that is all about EVIL. Yep, it deserves all caps! There is plenty of ass kicking, disappointment & happiness, so I was VERY happy with it. But now, I have to wait again for the next book... sigh...

Kiss the Dead
by Laurell K. Hamilton

When a fifteen-year-old girl is abducted by vampires, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Anita Blake to find her. And when she does, she’s faced with something she’s never seen before: a terrifyingly ordinary group of people—kids, grandparents, soccer moms—all recently turned and willing to die to avoid serving a master. And where there’s one martyr, there will be more…
But even vampires have monsters that they’re afraid of. And Anita is one of them…

my thoughts~ I began reading LKH a long while ago and loved the Anita Blake series for the longest time... then it went nuts and she was having sex with just about everybody! I mean it made sense with the way the story line was going, but jez, I was spending more time skipping the sex than I did reading the rest of the book! And while Anita is still sleeping with multiple people, this book wasn't that based around the sex. Don't get me wrong, she got her groove on, but the story was great too! I have really enjoyed this series (mostly) and look forward to the next book!
